Gavin Floyd will have his next start pushed back due to right elbow/forearm tightness.
Floyd showed no signs of the injury in his last outing, spinning 7 2/3 scoreless innings against the Blue Jays. The good news is that an MRI came back clean and he's expected to avoid a trip to the disabled list. It's possible he could be ready as soon as Wednesday. Dylan Axelrod will take his spot in the rotation Monday, while Philip Humber will return from the DL Tuesday.

Rotoworld

It seems more and more likely Danks won't be back this year. If another starter goes down, we're fucked.

Let's hope Humber looks more like last year/early this year now that he's supposedly healthy. I agree, we're in big trouble if anyone else goes down. Which leads me to my next question: Should we make a trade for a #3/#4 type starter before the deadline? I say without a doubt yes. This patchwork rotation WILL come back to bite us.

Also, what have you heard about Danks? Last I heard, they still didn't have a time frame for his return. There are 2.5 months left + the postseason. LONG WAY to to go.

Anyone else worried about the Boston series going Axelrod-Humber-TBA(hopefully Floyd)-Quintana(performed badly in the pressure of New York, Fenway is also tough).

I haven't heard anything on Danks, but it's been how long and there is still not timetable yet? That's not a good thing. This really sucks because Floyd owns the Red Sox. I don't think they've ever beaten him.

Chicago White Sox ‏@whitesox
The #WhiteSox placed RHP Gavin Floyd on the 15-day DL (retroactive to July 8) with right elbow tendinitis

Well, shit. Let's hope he comes back fast. This is apparently the season of sneaky injuries to our pitchers...I don't think we are being given anywhere close to the total picture on Danks, Humber, or Floyd.

I've had this feeling of dread for a while and I think it's finally overtaken me. We're falling apart and I don't think we can hold it together. The rookies are getting tired/losing their rookie magic. The rotation is falling apart and our endless rookie options aren't going to be enough to patch things forever. Who knows how much longer Quintana and sale are going to go before they get gassed. The Tigers are hot as hell and will surely add a big piece at the deadline. I think we're crumbling.

I've had hints of these feelings as well, but I want to see what the rest of the week/weekend/road trip brings before I give in to them. This is the hardest part of DETs schedule as well. We have the easiest schedule of the three ALC contenders...only problem for us is that is because we have tons of games left against Minny and KC, and we all know how those games historically go for our Sox.

Need to trade for a starter..even if he's just average.
